When people think of Florida they think of beaches, sun and great fun. Well, I did too but things changed on this adventurous trip.
So a previous cheer team that I was on was heading to Florida for a trip. I honestly can not remember if they competed in a cheer competition or just went down their for fun.
Well my old coach wanted April, a girl that I was friends with, who also use to cheer for this team and me to tag along. So of course we did not turn down the offer. It was basically a free trip to Orlando Florida.
So next thing I know, I’m asking my parents, they say yes and then I am packing my bags for my first trip to Florida.
The ride was BRUTAL. It was like an 18+ drive. By the time I got out the van my ankles were not ankles anymore they were kankels (meaning they were very swollen and looked weird).
Well the trip started out okay. I did not really click with the girls that were on the team. I don’t think they clicked with me either because I was not on the team anymore, but whatever. April knew some of the girls so she was fine.
We went to the Universal which I did not really like because we could not find any rides at all. I heard later on that a lot of the rides were inside buildings so we only found one to ride.
So after we went there we shopped and went out to eat and just chilled day to day. One day we went to the beach and this is when things went completely sour. We get there and things are kind of cool. I try to be less anti-social and bond with the other girls.
So we tried to do the typical white girl beach picture, the jump in the air kind of pose.
Yea, this one right here.
Well it was a complete fail. So after that I head back to where we were set up because I wanted to eat. I was looking for my phone and had no idea where it was. After about 2 mins all I could think was that it fell in the ocean when I jumped.
So I run back down by the water asking the other girls did they see my phone and one of them replied “Oh, that was your phone?” Girl really? I was so mad that she did not at least pick it up. She had seen my phone multiple times on this trip.
She kept trying to talk to me and I was trying not to flip out. I just wanted her to hush. My whole life was on that phone and now it was ocean food.
I called my mom crying and she’s super dramatic so she thought I was getting kidnapped. Of all things to say she comes up with I am getting kidnapped. So I finally got my voice together so I could tell her what happened. She told me it was okay. Thank God.
We headed home the next day and my mom had a brand new phone waiting for me on my bed. I was so glad to be away from all those people and I got a new phone so all things were good.
Maybe my next trip to Florida will be better.
